Frequently Asked Questions about our CSA

Picture
Where and when can I pick up my CSA share?
Pick-up hours are at our Farm Stand either on Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm or Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm

What kinds of produce will I get?
Shares consist of at least 6-7 items, such as a head of lettuce, one bunched kale, portion of cucumbers, cut herbs, etc. and are subject to seasonal availability

What are your growing methods?
We follow the USDA organic growing methods and all products used in the production of vegetables and fruits are approved by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in organic growing

Will my vegetables be washed?
Yes, we rinse off most of our vegetables after harvesting but we do recommend you wash them before eating

How often do I receive a share of produce?
Depending on the type share selected, you will receive your share either every week for the 26-week harvest season or every other week for 13 weeks, beginning in November 2020 and ending in late May 2021

Am I able to choose what goes in my share?
We're sorry but this is not possible.  All our totes are packed for you from the vegetables harvested each week at their peak of ripeness.  Everyone will receive the same variety of vegetables and we are not able to customize shares.  You are welcome, however, to take advantage of our trade box on farm pick up.  This is a box at the farm which serves as a trading place and members may leave one item they do not especially care for or cannot eat for some reason, in the box in exchange for another item.  Please keep in mind there will probably be more items to select from earlier in the day

What is the produce packed in?
We have insulated tote bags for sale to members at $5 each, just over our cost.  We highly recommend using them to contain the share or alternatively, a member could supply their own two insulated totes for use

How do I sign up?
Our 2020-21 CSA season membership is now open for sign up.  More information is available here.

What about volunteering?
Volunteering is not required at our farm.

Can I visit the farm?
Members may contact us for a tour at no charge.   Non-members may tour the farm by appointment, however, there will be a small charge.

What happens if I have financial hardship or have to relocate and I am unable to finish my membership commitment?
You will be refunded any monies due if you are able to find a replacement for the remainder of the season; replacement person(s) must buy out remainder of your share.

What about if I go on vacation and I am unable to pick up my share?
When you are going out of town, you will be responsible to have your share picked up at the farm stand by someone else such as a family member, friend, etc.  Or, you could choose to donate the produce to someone else.  We do need prior notification before the pick-up day, however.

I just found out about your CSA and I would like to join but it is already in the middle of the season - can I still join?
If we have any available shares, we can take on mid-season members and cost of the share would be pro-rated

Whom do I contact if I have any questions or feedback regarding my membership?
Please contact us any time by email, text, phone call or via our contact form.  Also, if you have any problems with the website, please let us know!
